Grade Level Kits and
After School Kits
We have created Reader’s Theater Kits for the classroom filled with teacher favorite titles. The kits available include Stories For Grades K-1, Stories For Grades 2-3, Stories For Grades 4-5, and Stories for Grades 6-8. Also available are After School Kits for Grades K-2, Grades 3-5, Grades 6-8, and a compact Budget Kit for Grades K-5. Finally, specialized kits include the Folk Tales/Myths/Legends Kits for two grade ranges, the Healthy Themes Kit, and the Reading First Kit.
Each kit has 6 copies each of between 5 – 12 different titles and six copies of a cross-curricular workbook for each title. These supplemental activities may be used at the teacher’s discretion to reinforce story ideas in different content areas such as Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and Health. Mini-Costume kits and Games for some stories can be purchased separately.

School Sets
The classic School Set is available in both Spiral Bound and Saddle Stitch format and includes one title with enough copies of the story for the recommended number of readers plus an extra copy for the teacher. It also includes a Teacher’s Guide, Classroom Implementation Video on VHS or DVD, Performance Award Certificates and Reader Assignment Charts. Some titles include cross-curricular supplements for Math, Science, Social Studies, Health and Language Arts. Classroom Sets
Using our new Saddle Stitch binding format, it is economically feasible to purchase Reader's Theater sets that include a copy of the story for every student in the class. This allows teachers to conduct a choral read of the story with the entire class (having students assigned to the same role reading in unison together). This allows students the opportunity to read their role in the safety of a small choral group before going solo in their small reading group. Classroom Sets also allow the teacher to conduct simultaneous small group readings of the same story rather than rotating students to one small group to use a Small Group Set (in which copies are based on the number of story characters instead of the number of students in the classroom). You can choose to have your Classroom Set include 25, 30 or 35 copies.

Every Playbook® is available for download directly to your color printer. You may print enough copies for one classroom set (typically 6-7 copies). The Teacher’s Guide, Supplemental Activities (where available), Reading Assignment Page, and Award Certificates may also be downloaded directly from the Playbooks, Inc. web site. The Download Print Option is available after clicking on a story in our shopping cart.

and Workbooks
Many Playbook® stories come with Supplemental Activity Packets, and Grade Level Kits include Supplemental Workbooks for each student in a small reading group. These engaging activities accompany and reinforce ideas from the story. Activities include: crossword puzzles, word search, vocabulary flash cards, writing prompts, story mapping, and word problems. Content areas include Math, Science, Social Studies, Health and Language Arts and vary for the stories depending on subject matter.

Simple costumes can help students get into their roles and enhance the read-aloud experience.
